Scorching SunBelt

Ga St, Ga Southern, and ULM are tied at 13-5 with two conference games left.

Ga St Panthers are  @ULM on Mar 5 and  @  GSU in the final regular season gave Mar 7.

Ryan Harrow is the  Panthers’ star and has enough talent to take them to the regular season title.

Hewitt has been steady for G-Southern but his efforts were not enough tp prevent a loss to 4th place ULL last night

ULM had a bad loss last night to App St last night, and I don’t know where they’ll find the scoring.

So toss a coin , or settle for a tie cuz  a Georgia school will hold or share  this years SunBelt crown

Feb 21 – three hot games

CUSA- La Tech(21-6, 12-2 C-USA) , the CUSA leader, travels north to face ODU (19-6, 8-5 C-USA) who will like need to win the CUSAT to make the Dance.  Freeman  will shine today for ODU as they get a big win.

Buffalo

(16-9, 7-6 MAC)

Bowling Green

(17-7, 9-4 MAC)

Moss will put up big numbers for Buffalo but not enough to stop their recent slide. BG trying to re-group from a bad lossto Miami O will get a  big game for Richaun Holmes today.

___________________________________________________________________________Georgia Southern will get a big game from Hewitt  against Ken Williams and the USA Jags and stay a game behind ULM in the SunBelt race .

Feb 22: ODO and Freeman were  stoked from the beginning> Coach Jeff Jones knows a thing or two about getting to the Dance.

Ga Southern and Hewitt hung on against S.Bama 80-74.

My incorrect pick was BG who lost 68-56 despite a solid effort from Holmes(15 Pts, 7 Reb, 1 Ast, 5 Blk). Buffalo was led by S. Evans 19 Pts, 1 Reb, 3 Ast, 1 Stl

week 14 , pick 3

MAC West  battle for first. I’ll go with W. Mich Terrell/Franklin QB /RB combo to edge the NIU Hare Stingly combo.

Sunbelt: Ga Southern will rebound from Navy thumping  and beat ULM. Breida will have a big rushing day against ULM

CUSA: Can the improving Marshall D stop the high flying Doughty train of WKU? Very tough call but I’ll say MU 35 WKU 34

Nov 27: still time to vote in the poll. NIU/WMU kicks off 11AM  Friday

Nov 29

ofer 2.  needed to nearly double the point total  on the CUSA game. Doughty outdueled Cato.

Hare’s feet made the difference as NIU scored 24 unanswered points in a 31-21 W over WMU

Nov 30

GASU 22 ULM 16  saved me from 0fer3, and  captured the Sun Belt Conference title with an undefeated, 8-0 conference record.

Week 11, pick 3

Tuesday & wednesday MAC games

Knapke’s arm will lead Bowling Green in a road win over Akron

Sunbelt- I’ll go with Texas St upsetting the league leader Georgia Southern. Brieda has rushed for 1100 yards for GS, but I’ll go with Bobcats backfield combo, Franks & Lowe.

CUSA- Sokol  has tossed for 2300 yards and Louisiana Tech is on a four game winning streak, but I’ll go with UAB  at home. Jordan Howard has been a stellar RB for the Blazers.

11/5/14

Knapke was just ok (170 YDS, 1 TD) but BG won easily 27 -10

11/9/14

GAS got a 100yd pick 6 late in the 3Q which provided the cushion to syrvive a 15-0 TXST 4Q. Close but no cigar

Jordan Howard (UAB) was a beast again 148 yds, 1TD for UAB. but Ltech was too much  in the end. LT 40 UAB 24.

The MAC game saved me from an 0fer

MAC & Sunbelt one ticket each

Ok, I’m behind the curve on these two conferences but I’ll offer  some snippets for later criticism

Western Michigan will return to the Dance  led by David Brown 19 PPG. Akron & Toldeo are my dark horses.
